New DVD Releases

The week of March 30th has seen many new DVD releases. Bolt, a Walt Disney Animated Studios production, is a comedy starring the voices of John Travolta as Bolt, Susie Essman as the voice of Mittens the cat, and Mark Walton as the voice of Rhino the hamster. Slumdog Millionare is a drama starring Dav Patel and Frieda Pinto. Quantum of Solace, starring Daniel Craig as James Bond and Olga Kurlenko, was also released this week.

Bolt is the story of a canine who plays a Hollywood television dog with superpowers. He is accidentally shipped to New York City, miles away from his comfortable Hollywood home. The big problem is that Bolt thinks he really has superpowers. He is befriended by an abandoned house cat and a television addicted hamster, and the adventure begins as they travel back to Hollywood.

Slumdog Millionare is a story about 18 year old Jamal Malik who grew up in the slums of India. He is a contestant on the show "Who wants to be a Millionaire." This appearance should be the highlight of his young life as he is about to answer the winning question, worth 20 million rupees; however, Jamal is arrested by the police and accused of cheating. The police chief does not believe the young man can know all the answers on the game show without cheating. As the police questions Jamal, the love, mystery and drama in Jamal's life is revealed.

Quantum of Solace is an action packed James Bond movie. Bond is betrayed by the woman he loves, Vesper. Determined to find the truth, Bond has to stay ahead of the CIA to prevent the overthrow of a third world country. Bond has to keep his emotions in check to finish the dangerous mission.
