iPods are Apple's wildly popular version of a personal mp3 player. Apple first came out with the iPod in 2001. Since that time, the iPod has had many makeovers and come out in many different versions.
The iPod is a small, easy to carry and use device. It stores all of its media on an internal hard drive, as opposed to all other devices of the similar design. The iPod also comes in many different versions, such as the iPod shuffle, the Nano, the iPod Touch and the iPod Classic. The new iPhone can also be used as an iPod, but is typically considered a phone first.
iPods also come in a variety of sizes and colors. The iPod Shuffle is about the same size as a package of chewing gum, while the iPod classic is very thin, but is about the size of a pack of cigarettes. Just a few of the many colors are blue, black, silver, pink, and green. They can also be personalized, if ordered from Apple's website, with your name or personal saying engraved on the back of the iPod.
iPods can be used to hold more than just music also. They can be used as personal planners, photo albums, and video and game players. Media is transferred to these devices using the iTunes software downloaded from Apple's website. Songs, videos, and even audio books can be purchased for download on this site. Do you have some favorite CDs? They can be loaded onto your iPod also and then saved into iTunes for future use.
iPods have been around for eight years and look to be the number one selling media player for years to come.
