There is lot to mention when it comes to the most current electronics. The gamut of items is extensive, from televisions, telephones, and computers, to audio equipment, cameras, camcorders, and household appliances. One company that is at the forefront is Sony Electronics, which is the first electronics manufacturer to make free e-recycling available via drop boxes at retail locations. For consumers to dispose of unwanted electronics in a safe manner, they introduced GreenFillSM; this in conjunction with Earth Day. The products that can be recycled are portable music devices, small laptops, cell phones, etc. Eighty-one retail stores have joined so far. It is an extension of its Take Back Recycling program, designed to help build awareness. There are more than two hundred and seventy drop off locations where larger Sony branded electronics will be accepted at no charge and other brands for a small fee. A list of the permanent drop off locations plus details can be found at the Sony website.
LED (Light Emitting Diodes) Televisions are becoming very popular and seem to be the favorites at the moment. They have that "wow" factor when it comes to the picture quality that cannot be found in standard LCD TVs. Then there is the size, at 1.2 inches in depth; again, almost a "wow" factor compared to where televisions were a mere 10 years ago. Another important factor is that it reduces power usage by 40%, which is significant.
Finally, there is "Flash Virtual Reality Image," which creates items that can be viewed in three dimensions on your computer. Let’s not forget HP’s TouchSmart Computer. Technology is changing constantly and tomorrow there will be other products to look at and analyze.
