The iPod Nano was first introduced to the world of technology in September of 2005. This product, along with all the iPod models, is solely manufactured by Apple, Inc. The iPod Nano has four different products that are named according to the order in which they were released.
The original iPod Nano only had a one GB, two GB or four GB memory and came in black, white or the special edition color of RED and were first released in September 2005. For each RED iPod Nano that was bought, $10 went directly to the global fund to fight AIDS in Africa.
The second generation of the Nano, introduced in September 2006, came in several new colors and with two GB, four GB or eight GB of memory. It was smaller in size than the original Nano and the earphone port and dock connector were put on the bottom of the device.
The third generation Nano offered the never-before seen ability to download videos and has either four GB or eight GB of memory. This generation of Nano was released in September 2007 and has a much wider screen along with a hold switch on the bottom of the unit.
The fourth generation of Nano’s has a much larger memory capacity and it comes in either eight GB or 16 GB and is offered in nine different colors. This Nano was released in September 2008 and has a much taller screen and has an overall sleek oval shape to it.
