The iPod Touch

The worlds of music and technology have really come a long way, especially with the introduction of the iPod Touch. The best way to describe the iTouch is that it is a much smaller version of the original iPod and has a glass touch screen. The first iPod Touch sales took place on September 5, 2007. This product is marketed by Apple Inc. and comes with 8, 16 or 32 GB of flash memory. The larger the memory is, the more music, videos, and photos can be stored in the unit.

The iPod Touch also released a second generation iTouch in September of 2008. There are several things that are better with the second generation iTouch, including built in speakers, Blue-tooth support, and also external volume controls. It also has an oval shaped antenna cover on the back cover. The battery in the first generation iTouch lasts about 22 hours for music and only 5 hours for videos. The second generation iTouch offers a better battery which enables 36 hours of music and 6 hours of video.

There are several nice features with the iTouch. When you move the iPod Touch different ways, the screen automatically adjusts so that you can read it. With the iTouch, one can also connect to the Internet with a program called Safari. This program allows you to watch YouTube videos and search, preview, and buy songs from the Apple iTunes online store. The iPod Touch is unique in the sense that it is the first iPod that has the capability of connecting to the iTunes online store.
