iPods

At one time or another, we've seen someone walking around carrying a little box with earphones in their ears. Yet another new gadget for everyone.

Those tiny rectangular boxes, with a little screen, and a dial on the front are called, iPods. You can listen to music on them. Some are just now finding out what they are; but they have actually been around for a long time. They are made by Apple Inc. They became popular very quickly because they are slim, easy to carry, and can hold many songs. Older people may remember the Walkman radio. It was not exactly something you could carry around and put in your pocket. iPods can be used with headphones, or connected to larger speakers, letting the box function like a tiny stereo system. The first iPods that came out could only play music. Like everything else, it has been improved, and now can do a lot more. You can transfer photos, calendars, videos, and games to the iPod. This of course depends on which type you get, as there are many different ones to choose from. There is one caution with iPods, just like any other music system. If you are using headphones to listen to music, don't have the volume loud, as this can cause damage to your hearing. Nothing against iPods, just use some common sense when listening.

The iPod is a nice little device. You will need to shop around, and do some research. There are many types on the market to choose from. Another thing you will notice is, many different prices too.
