Kanye West's "808s & Heartbreak"

Kanye West has always been known for his musical talents. His first album, "College Dropout", sold millions of copies nationwide. His later albums, "Late Registration" and "Graduation", also topped the charts with such hits as "Jesus Walk", "Flashing Lights", and "Kanye's Work Out Plan". It’s no big surprise when Kanye released his latest album, "808s & Heartbreaks", that this album wouldn't also hit number one in record sales. But unlike all his other albums, it's the story behind this album that really makes it a success.

When the album was released, Kanye classified this album as a pop album instead of a rap album. The reason for this is because the album encompasses different elements of synthpop, electronica, R&B, and electropop. It also includes the uses of a drum machine and an auto-tune voice processor, which is commonly used by the R&B singer T-Pain. The sound West created from the drum machine was combined with other electronic sounds and then manipulated. Kanye referred to the resulting sound from this blend of music as "heartbreak". West thought of this concept because he intended this album to go against the typical Hip hop beats and instead incorporate the sounds of tribal drums. Also, most of his songs on this album are more sung rather than they are rapped and they focus on more beautiful themes rather than the usual derogatory themes in rap music.

With Kanye's new album now on sale, his new blend of music is definitely something that most listeners will enjoy. The inspirational lyrics and soothing and unique melodies that encompass Kanye's new album make people focus on other things rather than the typical hip hop songs would make people believe, because one thing is for sure: this album would never leave you with a broken heart.
