"He's Just Not That Into You" on DVD

“He’s Just Not That Into You” is a romantic comedy that deals with a theme published in the book “Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus.” The movie deals with relationships and dating and how clueless men and women are in this area.

The movie is cast with stars like Scarlett Johansson, Drew Barrymore, Jennifer Connelly, Jennifer Aniston and Ben Affleck. Each of the women plays a particular type of female, which we can readily find in television sitcoms. There is the bad girl, the mistress, and of course the girl who can’t get comfortable with commitment. The director and writers offer male stereotypes as well, somewhat similar to the women and this makes for enjoyable watching.

As the movie goes forward we watch Gigi and Alex develop a relationship that is fought with difficulty but ends up being serious by the end of the picture. Janine, Anna and Ben make up another grouping of actors who we get to watch fumble through an extra marital affair and all the comedy from hiding in the closet and a carton of cigarettes for Ben from Janine with a note stating she wants a divorce. The last grouping is Conor, Mary and Anna and this is the same Anna from the second group. She is having an affair with Ben and dating Conor despite the fact that she really isn’t interested in him. The last pair is Beth and Neil which seems to be the most normal and they end up getting married.
