This summer, one of the best ways to spend time with the family is getting together and watching the latest Hollywood flick. If action and adventure movies are the preferred choice, then you may be interested in checking out "The International." This movie stars Clive Owen and Naomi Watts and was released in theaters on February 13, 2009.
The movie tells the tale of Interpol agent Louis Salinger (Owen) and Manhattan Assistant District Attorney Eleanor Whitman (Watts) who are trying to bring down the International Bank of Business and Credit which is believed to be funding terrorist activities. The movie’s tagline is a clever play on words based on the plot: “They control your money. They control your government. They control your life. And everybody pays.”
Salinger and Whitman learn about several illegal activities involving the bank, including money laundering, arms trading and government destabilization. The bank has even gone as far as assassinating the Italian prime ministerial candidate. Using this information, the two travel from Berlin to Milan, taking out bad guys and collecting more clues which will bring them closer to completing their mission.
The film is based on a screenplay by Eric Singer and directed by Tom Tykwer. It was released in both America and Germany. "The International" grossed $58,166,968 worldwide and can now be watched in the comfort of your own home. It is available on Blu-Ray and DVD on June 9, 2009 in stores everywhere. Get your copy today.
