The iPod Shuffle is an MP3 player that is produced by Apple, Inc. At the Macworld Conference and Expo on January 11, 2005, Apple introduced the first generation of the product to the public. The phrase they used to market the product was “life is random”. The iPod shuffle uses flash memory not a hard stick for storage.
The iPod Shuffle is a less expensive version of the original iPod. This product does not include many of the features that the full size iPod has. These include, a display, scroll wheel, playlist management features, games and address book. Instead, the iPod Shuffle is a compact and light weight audio device, that allows the user to shuffle through their playlist.
With the advent of newer technology, Apple has worked to increase the features and use of this product. The newest feature to be added to the iPod Shuffle is, the ability to reduce the bit rate of songs. The file is automatically made into a smaller file, when it is downloaded into the device. This creates more storage room, and allows for more songs to be placed on the device.
Another new feature that has been integrated into the iPod Shuffle is VoiceOver. This technology allows your MP3 player to actually talk to you. All you have to do is press a button on the device; and you will hear the name of the artist and the title of the song in which you are listening.
The iPod Shuffle can be bought in any local department or electronics store. It comes in two different colors which are white and black. The player has 4 GB of memory space, which means it has a capacity of 1,000 song.
