The iPod Touch was first introduced in 2007. The iPod Touch is made by Apple; it is a portable media player and a personal digital assistant. This product features touch graphics, and 8, 16, or 32 GB of flash memory. The web browser is Safari, also made by Apple. It also features wireless access to the iTunes Store; this is a first for any iPod.
The first generation iPod Touch featured a touch screen; but it was not capable of receiving emails. The second generation of the iPod Touch has a thinner design. It also has more features than the first generation. They include external volume control and built in speakers. On the home screen one finds a list of applications. The second generation also has email built in. The support for email includes, IMAP, POP, and Microsoft Exchange servers.
The third generation of the iPod Touch was introduced in 2008. The iPod Touch features an LCD monitor, great sound quality, menu selection, and rewind and fast forward capabilities. It is very thin, only .3-inches; and the touch screen display is 3.5 inches, a great size screen. This iPod Touch includes iTunes, Wi-Fi music, and download capabilities when not at your computer. It has three different storage capacities, 8GB, 16GB, and 32GB. Other features of the iPod Touch include an apple dock connector, USB 2.0 and firewire sync ready, compatible with windows XP, Vista, and Mac OS. The iPod Touch is a remarkable device. With all the improvements since the first one appeared it is worth checking out.
