The iPod Mini was introduced to the public in February 2004. It has an internal battery, so it can offer up to eight hours of music on a single charge. It weighs about 3.6 ounces and the face is the size of a credit card. It was designed for those who love music, so it will hold between 1000 and 1500 tunes. In February 2005, Apple offered an upgraded version of the iPod Mini which had a battery life of 18 hours. This upgrade also had an additional six gigabytes of storage for extra music. Apple introduced the iPod Nano in September 2005 and discontinued the iPod Mini.
The iPod Mini was the first of the Apple’s iPods to use the click wheel. This was so named because the four buttons needed to operate the iPod were under a wheel. The user then clicked near the edge of the wheel to activate the button. The minis came in 5 colors. They were silver, gold, pink, blue, and green.
Even though it has been discontinued, Apple offers support on its website. They also offer troubleshooting and a discussion group of other iPod Mini users. In this way, one can see if others have had the same problem and how they solved it. The mini remains very popular, even though it is discontinued. It helped Apple get a huge boost to their iPod sales during the short time it was available. The iPod Mini still provides a brisk business on online auction sites such as eBay.
