"Adventureland" on DVD

Released on film in August 2009, "Adventureland" became available on DVD in April 2009. It is a movie climbing in popularity already. The film was written and directed by Greg Mottola. It stars Jesse Eisenburg as James Brennan, and Kristen Stewart as Emily Lewin.

The movie is a combination of romance, comedy, and drama. Brennan dreams of going on a tour in Europe, during the summer of 1987. He recently graduated from college, and is planning to attend an Ivy League college in New York City, that coming fall. Brennan's parents experience a severe setback in his alcoholic father's career. Their son has to make some changes in his plans. He has to get any local job he can, to cover future tuition expenses. Acquiring a position at an amusement park, named Adventureland, James quickly falls for fellow employee, Emily Lewin. Emily doesn't have to work, but purposely wants to get away from home. Brennan's job isn't the most prestigious, but it had many lessons of life, trust, and love intermingled with gobs of mischief.

Greg Mottola originally had selected Adventureland park, where he worked in his younger years. He changed his plan after discovering it had been updated, and didn't look the same as when he was an employee. On March, 27 each year, the authentic Adventureland park is scheduled to open. That same date is when the movie was to debut.

Farmington, New York is where the true Adventureland is located. The movie is rated R for language, sexual content, and use of drugs.
