"Miss March" on DVD

The 2009 R-rated sexual comedy, “Miss March,” was written and directed by Trevor Moore and Zach Cregger, who also starred in the movie. It was released to the big screen on March 19, 2009.

The irreverent 90-minute comedy is about two young best friends, very opposite in character. Eugene (Cregger), a young man with a girlfriend in high school, was an advocate for abstinence now. On the other hand, Tucker (Moore) was just the opposite, living for the testosterone rush of adolescents. The script shows that Moore and Cregger understand the importance of opposites and comedy plotting. At the end of high school, Eugene slips into a coma where he remains for four years. When Eugene wakes from his coma, his best friend updates him on his high school sweetheart who has become a playboy bunny. Tucker springs Eugene from the hospital and takes him on a road trip to the Play Boy Mansion, to help him find her again. The bulk of the movie takes place on the road trip where the two meet all kinds of people and go through predictable predicaments and escapades. The problem is that “Miss March” is not very funny, perhaps it is because Moore just does not have the punch to make Tucker come to life as the rowdy, lawless person the script dictates.

Although “Miss March” is a softhearted love story, the critics have proclaimed it as too tame and boringly predictable. Although the critics do not care for it, the audience will be glad to know that it will be available on DVD July 29, 2009. Decide for yourself if interested.
