Upcoming CD Releases

Finding a list of upcoming releases used to be easy. Before music publications and the Internet, you'd go into your nearest record store and they would have a list of upcoming releases. Today, its both simple and complicated to find upcoming releases. It's simpler because information is online, but its more complicated because there are more sources, more genres, more recording artists and more releases.

Consider just a sample of the current upcoming releases and sources. According to one San Francisco-based site (Strangerdance) it has been "confirmed" that the following artists are putting out albums. On June 23 (over a week after Flag Day), the band Deer Tick will release "Born on Flag Day." You can hear an mp3 sample of the new track "Easy" online. On June 30, Levon Helm ends the month of June with his "Electric Dirt."

Online critics also have sites that can provide you with information. Metacritic.com, for example, made note of some American release dates. On June 16, Incubus is putting out their greatest hits CD, "Moments And Melodies," and the Jonas Brothers will release "Lines, Vines And Trying Times."

Perhaps you're of more of an "old school" mind. You can consult Billboard.com. Billboard has been an industry standard since the beginning. Some noteworthy releases include the week of June 16th release of the Yeah You's "15 Minutes" and Hank Williams Jr. puts out "127 Rose Avenue." Releases during the week of June 22 and 29 include "15 Chacalosas" by La Nueva, "Slippery When Wet" by Bon Jovi and Blind Faith's self-titled premiere. Whether you are anticipating a re-release, the latest latin music, the newest kiddy record, or the coolest country, you'll find it online.
