Blu-Ray Players

In the world of home video, the DVD player has ruled for many years. The ability for the disc to play with greater quality than tapes moved this technology into the forefront, which it has held ever since it was introduced. However, in 2005, Sony announced it was close to releasing a disc player that would be superior to the traditional DVD player, and in 2006, the first Blu- Ray player was sold to the general public.

The Blu-Ray player produces a highly superior picture thanks to the technology which uses a blue (violet) laser to read what is on the disc. The laser enables the reading of the disc to be much more succinct and clear in both the video and audio portions of the recording. Because of the introduction of this technology, many movies are beginning to be released in both DVD and Blu-ray format, with the Blu-ray format costing a bit more.

The Blu- Ray basically provides a high definition video for the viewer. Already there are some players that have risen above the rest and in consumer reports, the best one on the market might surprise you. The best rated Blu-Ray on the market is the Sony Play station 3. Remember, this technology was founded by them and the Blu-Ray technology is also used for video games, so perhaps it’s not all that surprising.

Other highly rated Blu-Ray players include a number of players from Samsung including the Samsung BD-P1500. Samsung as a brand has the most top rated Blu-Ray players on the market today.
